Functioning of Montane Peatlands

My work focuses on understanding the types of peatlands, their vegetation composition, flora, hydrologic regime, carbon fluxes, and condition in mountainous regions.
Projects include the development of regional peatland type and vegetation classification systems, analyzing the hydrologic regimes that support peatlands vs. mineral soil wetlands, different types of fens, and bog vs. fens. We also analyze peatland carbon budgets in relation to hydrologic regime.
