Individual Abstracts – Deadline: July 16, 2017

In the abstract application system you should specify the title of your presentation, all authors, and their affiliations. Each abstract should provide a clear statement of the problem or objectives, give brief methods and substantive results, and end with a clear conclusion. All submissions must be in English.

Step 1): Create an account with Exordo by visiting: https://pathways2018.exordo.com

Step 2): Select the “Individual Abstract” option.

Step 3) Enter the title and abstract. The title must be ≤8 words and abstracts must be ≤350 words in order to submit. Abstracts that exceed the word limit can’t be submitted through the online submission system. Each abstract should include a clear statement of the problem or objectives, give brief methods and substantive results, and end with a clear conclusion. Do not use vague statements such as “results will be discussed.”

Step 4) Enter all authors and their affiliations. Designate “corresponding authors” and “presenting authors”

Step 5): Choose up to 3 themes that accurately categorize your abstract. These topics will be used to place your abstract in an appropriate session if your submission is not part of an organized session.

The Pathways Africa conference theme is “Living with Wildlife. This theme will guide the development of our plenary and training program. We encourage presentations that fall within the Pathways Africa conference theme, but this is not a requirement. The conference organizers have drafted a list of potential key topics areas that we hope will inspire the conference program. Click Here to access the topics page.

These are potential areas for sessions, panels or individual presentations. These topics will be used to place your abstract in an appropriate session if your submission is not part of an organized session.

Step 7): If your abstract is selected you will be notified with an acceptance e-mail as soon as possible. Those who are selected to present will be required to submit their PowerPoint files no later than January 1, 2018. Instructions for PowerPoint submissions are found at the end of this document.
