INDIVIDUAL ABSTRACTS – Deadline: February 28th, 2018

Step 0) Create an account with Ex Ordo by visiting: (

Step 1) Select the “Individual Abstract” track.

Step 2) Enter the title and abstract. The title must be ≤8 words and abstracts must be ≤500 words in order to submit. Abstracts that exceed the word limit can’t be submitted through the online submission system. Each abstract should include a clear statement of the problem or objectives, give brief methods and substantive results, and end with a clear conclusion. Do not use vague statements such as “results will be discussed.”

Step 3) Enter all authors and their affiliations. All co-author’s email addresses must be included. You must also designate “corresponding authors” and “presenting authors.”

Step 4) Choose up to 3 topics/themes that accurately categorize your abstract. These topics will be used to place your abstract in an appropriate session if your submission is not part of an organized session.

The 2018 conference theme is Resurrecting the Wild. This theme will guide the development of our plenary and training program. We encourage individual presentations that fall within the 2018 conference theme, but this is not a requirement. The conference organizers have drafted a broader list of potential key topics areas that we hope will inspire the conference program. Click here to learn more about the 2018 theme and topics.

Step 5) You will be asked if you are submitting an Organized Session. This question is in reference to the submission that you are currently entering. Since this is an Individual Abstract, you will reply “no” here.

If your abstract is selected, you will be notified with an acceptance e-mail as soon as possible. All accepted submissions will be notified by May 15th, 2018.

All presenters must register and pay for the conference no later than July 1st, 2018. Presentation slots are limited and cancellations prohibit others from presenting their findings, so please be considerate.

Those who are selected to present will be required to submit their PowerPoint files no later than September 13th, 2018. We recommend uploading early. You will be able to make revisions to your presentation by logging into your online account up until TBA. Please do not upload presentations until after we have confirmed that your abstract has been accepted. Furthermore, please make sure to bring a backup copy of your presentation with you to conference.

The conference language is English so all the abstracts and presentations must be in English. In general, each presenter will be allotted 20 minutes (15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions). Some sessions may have additional discussion time available.
