LATENT DEMAND FOR WILDLIFE-RELATED RECREATION

Results from Wildlife Values in the West indicate a strong latent demand for future opportunites to engage in wildlife-related recreation activities. Latent demand refers to those people who express interest in a recreational activity, but are not current parcicipants. The percentage of each state’s survey respondents who fell into this category is displayed on the maps below for hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
