Dr. Cavaliere, in conjunction with other international experts, presented case studies regarding best practices to support sound ecotourism planning that contributes to protected areas in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Cavaliere was specifically invited to present her expertise regarding neolocalism, sustainable tourism and biocultural conservation. In her presentation, she discussed excerpts from her latest book entitled <em>Neolocalism and Tourism: Understanding a Global Movement<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodfellowpublishers.com\/academic-publishing.php?promoCode=GMIG&amp;partnerID=&amp;content=story&amp;storyID=436\">https:\/\/www.goodfellowpublishers.com\/academic-publishing.php?promoCode=GMIG&amp;partnerID=&amp;content=story&amp;storyID=436<\/a> in addition to highlights from her experiences working with the international NGO, Linking Tourism and Conservation and on sustainable tourism projects in Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her presentation focused on neolocalism and ecotourism as tools that can serve as conduits for the conservation of biocultural diversity. In addition, Dr. Cavaliere\u2019s research involving partnerships for conservation, sense of place, payments for ecosystem services, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were suggested as tools for decision makers to plan and manage ecotourism that supports protected areas in Slovakia.
