{"id":15,"date":"2016-10-05T17:54:18","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T17:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.warnercnr.colostate.edu\/forward\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2016-10-10T14:05:46","modified_gmt":"2016-10-10T14:05:46","slug":"current-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.warnercnr.colostate.edu\/forward\/current-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Current Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Upper South Platte Pilot Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Upper South Platte watershed is a key source of water for the City of Denver and other metro communities. \u00a0Impacts following \u00a0the\u00a0Buffalo Creek Fire (12,000 acres, 1996) and the Hayman Fire (137,760 acres, 2002) included reduced water quality, higher water treatment costs, damage to infrastructure, and sedimentation that reduced the capacity of Strontia Springs reservoir by one third. Denver Water and the US Forest Service continue to invested heavily in fuel treatment work to mitigate the impacts of future wildfires on water resources. A return on investment analysis of a payment for ecosystem services program in Colorado.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>Colorado Conservation Exchange Decision Support Tool<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are currently developing a decision support tool\u00a0for the Colorado Conservation Exchange areas of emphasis, the Big Thompson and Cache la Poudre watersheds.
