(2013)<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> allows the site to become occupied and then to become unoccupied later.\u00a0 The model has 4 parameters:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">psi &#8212; probability the site is occupied.\u00a0 Because this is a single-season model, the psi <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/parameter_matrices.htm\">PIM<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> has just a single entry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">pent &#8212; given that the site is occupied during the season, the probability that the species enters the site between occasions <i>j<\/i> and <i>j<\/i> + 1.\u00a0 This parameter is the beta of the\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/pertinentliterature.htm\">Kendall et al. (2013)<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> paper.\u00a0 The <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> is a single row with <i>t<\/i> &#8211; 1 entries, with the last (<i>t<\/i>th) value obtained by subtraction because the sum of the pent values must be &lt;= 1.\u00a0 Hence, the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/mlogit_link.htm\">mlogit link<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> is usually used the pent parameter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">.\u00a0 Otherwise, constant <i>d<\/i> or constant <i>p<\/i> models might be considered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">Also, this model is a mixture model built on top of another mixture model, so you should be careful to check for multiple optima.\u00a0 The <\/span><span Seasons<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">The multiple-season occupancy model (<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/pertinentliterature.htm\">Chambert et al. 2015<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">) extends the psi, epsilon, and gamma (data type 30) <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/occupancy_estimation_robust_design.htm\">multiple-season occupancy model<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"> for each primary occasion as described above for the single season occupancy model with relaxed closure.\u00a0 The pent parameter should normally have the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\"><a href=\"http:\/\/warnercnr.colostate.edu\/~gwhite\/mark\/markhelp\/mlogit_link.htm\">mlogit link function<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;font-family: Arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:
