His research interests are centered around the study of social-ecological systems, such as wildfires, climate change governance, energy development, water management, and invasive species. His current research projects apply social-ecological network analysis and computational social science tools to the study of wildfire adaptation in the face of climate change, institutional complexity associated with non-point source pollution, and aquatic invasive species management in the Great Lakes.
