Examples of our initiatives include becoming the first UK University to operate geothermal heating. Combined with improved building controls and use of solar power we have reduced gas consumption by 52%. We have a partnership with the British Heart Foundation, diverting 31.2 tonnes of items for disposal and generating an estimated \u00a358,580 to research. We actively encourage people to adopt a low emission alternative to travel, through public transport links, cycling schemes and installation of EVC’s.<\/p>\n
Accreditations have been awarded in sight of our achievements such as the EcoCampus Silver Certification, a Platinum ECOsmart Certification 2026 and the Three Star Food Made Good Certification 2026.
