We live in an ever changing world where water has become our most important resource. We need to better understand the quantity of water present during flood and drought, as well as the quality of that water to ensure all people have adequate access to this invaluable resource. To study water availability, Professor Fassnacht’s research examines the spatial and temporal variability of snow and related earth system properties, plus the interaction of humans and nature through collaborations with social scientists and humanities scholars.
