Vice Chair: Kate Graves
Biography
Kathryn (Kate) Graves, graduate of Colorado State University with BS Soil and Crop Sciences and MNRS Rangeland Science degrees, has over 25 years of environmental experience including reclamation and revegetation, consulting and team supervision for mine reclamation, oil and gas exploration, energy and water development, erosion control, agricultural and open space projects. Kate is a generalist in her field, with a narrowed interest in soil health, native grasses and ecosystem function.
As a native of the northern Colorado Front Range, Kate resides with her fiancé and son in Timnath, CO. Kate’s father worked at the Climax Molybdenum Mine in the late 1970’s, subsequently operating a family-owned reclamation services company until 2001, where Kate was President of operations. Kate now holds a position as Director of Reclamation, Stewardship and Environment for Fortress Development Solutions in Greeley, CO.

Chair & Treasurer: Cini Brown
Biography
Cynthia (Cini) Brown, PhD, is a professor of Agricultural Biology at Colorado State University and has almost 20 years of teaching experience alongside 35 years of research experience. She holds MS and BS degrees in Biological Sciences from Stanford University, and was awarded her PhD from the University of California Davis in 1998. Cini’s reasearch has explored grasslands, pest management, invasive species, and native plant restoration.
Cini’s career has taken her across the US, from California to Minnesota, and most recently to Colorado, where she has resided since 2002. She joined the HAR Committee in 2009, became the committee’s secretary in 2012, and now serves as both Treasurer and Chair.
