About Me: As an outdoor enthusiast from the flatlands of Lincoln Nebraska, the occasional water feature amongst the vast prairie always catches my attention. Rivers and lakes have always been a place for recreation for me, but through my undergraduate studies, they have also become an exciting ecosystem to study!

During undergrad, I researched the effects of wildfire ash on chlorophyll and algal growth in the Sandhill lakes of Nebraska. This research opportunity inspired me to continue to study water sciences and helped me discover my preference for rivers and streams.

Post graduation, I worked for the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) as a surface water analyst where I collected water samples and tested them for various water quality parameters. This data was used for governmental research, and to inform the public about health and safety in these bodies of water.

Research: My research focuses on the intersection between transient storage behind logjams and its’ impact on habitats  and biofilms for macroinvertebrates. More details coming soon!
